Food Sensitivities

A lot of people don’t know that they are actually allergic to the many foods found in our typical diet. Allergies don’t always appear immediately. They make appear after a few days or weeks even, and take note that they do not just come in the form of red marks or swelling of the skin. Allergies can also take in the form of insomnia, anxiety, distractibility, fogginess, fatigue, and irritability.

Some people with food sensitivities experience compromised immunity and develop skin irritations, asthma, sinus problems, digestive problems, joint pain, bacterial or viral diseases, auto-immune diseases, and sometimes osteoporosis.

When Gluten Strikes

One of the hottest topics in the world of allergens today is gluten, a type of wheat found in pizza, pasta, pastries, cereal, and bread. Notice that we consume these foods almost every day, so it is surprising that up to 40% of Americans are sensitive to gluten.

Another product that most people are allergic is dairy. More often than not, a person who’s allergic to gluten is also allergic to dairy.

Food allergies and sensitivities are a very serious issue that can be damaging to the immune system. What they do is overwork our immune system, which will eventually cause a person to gain weight, have a hard time shedding it, develop arthritis, and irritable bowel syndrome. The physical symptoms of food allergies can be avoided by eating different foods. It sounds simple, but many people have a hard time doing so.

It is important therefore to determine what foods you’re sensitive to in order to protect your immune system and strengthen it.
